Nazmin's to go?

New on the planning files - an application that appears to spell big changes for Garratt Lane. Assuming this reflects a real, and not speculative, application, it could be the end for a long-standing Earlsfield business: Nazmin's. Or at least half of it, as this application is only for the righthand side of the space Nazmin currently occupies.

Proposed front elevation

The summary of the application is: "Change of use from A3 restaurant at ground floor to part A1 / A2 and part C3(a) to the rear. Currently residential apartments related to the restaurant use on the upper floors are to be changed to C3(a). Extensions are proposed to the ground, first and second floors to facilitate the provision of 3 apartments C3(a) and one retail / office unit (A1/A2). Provision of shielded external terraces at first and second floors."

Part of the plans for the ground floor
Now, I don't know about you, but that looks awfully like an estate agent's office to me. Have strong feelings about swapping a restaurant for (possible) estate agent plus flats? The planning application is open for comments.

  1. The other half of Nazmins is currently closed, for what looks like refurbishment. Would make sense in this context.

Disappointing, if it is turning into an estate agent - I agree tha\t it looks that way from the plans. The last thing that we need is another estate agent...

  2. I would also be extremely disappointed to lose Nazmins. It has been a social place for a group of us for the past 8 years or so and is by far the best curry house I have been to in terms of food and decor. It is clean and modern and the staff are always very welcoming. Another estate agents? Nowhere needs anymore of those!

  3. We were told by Nazmins that they are refurbishing half the restaurant so I hope this is the case. I will be disappointed to see a restaurant disappear for another unnecessary estate agents.

  4. I see a Barnard Marcus is opening next to cafe Nero too, so sick of Estate Agents every second shop is an agent. Something needs to be done it's ruining Earlsfields high street there is hardly any independent businesses compared to the amount of agents.
