Ben's Canteen Earlsfield opening date confirmed

As previously reported on the blog, Ben's Canteen is taking over the former Willie Gunn site.

London restaurant site Hot Dinners has posted a short 'what you need to know' which lists the opening date as 15 May - just over a week away! They also say:

It'll have an old-school feel. Literally because the bar is made from a mix of old school desks and doors salvaged from Cornwall.

The menu's the same as the Battersea branch. So you can expect pulled pork baps, buttermilk chicken burgers, chicken and parmesan schnitzel, Asian pork broth and lots more. There will be a weekend brunch which adds plenty of egg dishes a soft shell crab burger and more. 
 
There will be a launch offer too. Any diners in the first month and the first 100 people to order a drink during usual happy hours will get a free drink.
