New life for empty shops in Earlsfield

There's plenty of activity on Garratt Lane at the moment. It's great to see more shops being transformed from empty shells to new businesses (though I think we're sorted for hairdressers for now).

I've already blogged about the Sylvan Oak restaurant taking over the former Carnevales site and Cattle Grid coming to the site next to the station.

Eagle-eyed readers also noticed building work underway inside Willie Gunn's. No word of who's taken it over, but I hear it's going to be an independent, modern British restaurant. UPDATE: semi-confirmed rumours indicate the new tenant is a branch of Ben's Canteen.

The former Country Fayre florist is also undergoing a tranformation, but no leads yet on what's going in.

There's what looks like a secondhand bookstore going in near Mel's cafe, and activity inside the former Bathrooms Experience site as well.

All fantastic to see but a bit mysterious too. I'm pleased to see more businesses coming to Earlsfield, but I'd love to know more! If you have any information, please do get in touch on goearlsfield@gmail.com.
