Local brewery in branding controversy

Local micro-brewers By The Horns hit the headlines this week. British actor Robert Lindsay has taken exception to his image being used on the brewery's Wolfie Smith Amber Ale. The beer's label uses an image of Lindsay as Citizen Smith from the eponymous sitcom in the 1970s. Lindsay apparently objects to his image being linked to a product containing alcohol.

Here's hoping that all publicity is good publicity and By The Horns will find a way to keep producing their great beer. I liked the suggestion of linking it with the local Summerstown 182 project, which is tracing local war veterans.

In the meantime, don't forget that By The Horns are hosting a brewery tour on February 27.
