Pantomime with a twist

Local amateur theatre group the Magdalene Players are gearing up for their next production. To brighten up the dark February days they're inviting local families to come along to their new take on the classic story of Rapunzel.

In their 35th annual pantomime
The Wicked Witch, Grundelin, is in the kingdom to take over and make the lives of Rapunzel and her father, Farmer Brian, a misery. A Prince is in the area looking for a quest. Will Grundelin reign supreme or will the Prince beat her, aided, abetted and hindered by a number of colourful characters.
The show runs from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 February, with matinee shows on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available through the Magdalene Players website.
