Mystery of Earlsfield soldier still unsolved

The Wandsworth Guardian reports on the mystery of a WWI soldier who has been honoured by an Earlsfield church for the last 20 years.

In 1993 the vicar of St Mary's Summerstown found a mysterious package on his doorstep. The enclosed memorial to Private William Clay has been included in Remembrance Sunday services every year since, but the mystery of the family memorial remains.

Reverend Dr Roger Ryan is appealing to Private Clay's family to join him at this year's service to place the memorial themselves.
