The Department for Education has confirmed that Floreat Education will run the new primary school academy on the current Atheldene site.
Floreat Education, who believe that "that education is as much about developing young people’s character
strengths and virtues as it is about developing their academic knowledge
and skills," have said in response to the announcement:
"Following an open competition
run by Wandsworth Borough Council, Floreat Education has been chosen to
open a new primary school on the site of the Atheldene Day Centre in
Earlsfield. We are very proud and excited to be opening our first school
in a local authority that already has some of the best education
provision in the country.
We are looking forward to working with parents, pupils and the local
community to create an outstanding new school, and to playing our part
in the regeneration
of the area. To find out more about our plans or to support the school
please contact James O’Shaughnessy on james@floreat.org.uk."
